Good Friends and Yellowstone

Although, I did not see much yellow stone, more like normal looking stone. Friday we traveled up to Rexburg Idaho to visit Cat and Daniel who moved out of Provo in January. We have missed them a ton. Cat and I became really close and I have really missed just going over to her place and hanging out talking for hours. We decided to go up there and see them before we leave Utah and it was so fun! Rexburg is a cute little town and there is an LDS temple there that is absolutely beautiful!

Friday night we just stayed up late and talked and talked. Saturday we woke up and Cat cut my hair SOOOO cute. I absolutely love it! Then we headed over to Yellowstone. It was raining but not too bad. We drove around and saw how gorgeous that place was, and saw lots of animals. No bears and no moose though; that was quite a bummer. We watched Old Faithful blow and smelt the other geysers, yuck.

While we were walking around the geyser trails three of them started to go off. It was crazy, I almost tackled Cat out of fear! Seth ran into the steam of one of them and smelled like rotten eggs for awhile after that. It was such a fun weekend!

So You Think You Can Dance ... Dance ... Dance

Thursday was the beginning of another hit Idol like show called So You Think You Can Dance. Basically, the show is amazing. To celebrate the beginning of a new season, I instigated a So You Think You Can Dance Party and required dancer-like costumes. Seth wore some of my stretchy pants ("chancho, sometimes when you are a man, you wear stretchy pants, in your room, just for fun") which of course were very tight and therefore hilarious.

The season premiere was slightly disappointing but none the less still the best dancing show on TV. Check out this guy though, I don't think he is real.

This guy was from last season and probably my favorite dancer ever. You have to watch till the very end of the video, they are amazed by him.

The Kind of Dog I Want

In my last post, I indicated some very valid reasons why I should get a dog. I failed, however, to mention what type of dog. Here are some pictures of dogs I want and dogs I do not want.

Want

Don't Want

I Want a Dog

I want a dog. Here are the reasons why I should get one:

1. He would be cuddly
2. I could take him on my jogs
3. He would love me
4. I would have a little buddy
5. I wouldn't want a baby
6. He would run to me when I got home from work
7. I would have someone to take care of
8. He would be rescued
9. I would have protection against terrorists
10. It would prove I don't have dog allergies
11. He would keep my toes warm at night
12. I would be the most popular person in town
13. I could pretend he is rabid and scare people
14. I could breed him and have more dogs
15. We could sing the cruella deville song together
16. When I do have a baby the dog could keep it busy while I watch soap operas
17. He could tell me funny jokes
18. I could learn dog language
19. He would chase off the neighborhood kids and steal their baseballs
20. I want a dog

The First Move

Seth and I moved out of our apartment May 15. It was a good apartment and we were sad to leave, but change is a part of life! We lived south of campus for our first year of marriage and were able to walk back and forth to school. It was one bedroom one bath and super cute. We searched forever to find a good place and we fell in love with it as soon as we saw it. Ok, so obviously this blog is a tribute to our Scott Todd apartment, but it was our first home as a married couple and therefore is important. We hugged the walls before we left to make sure it felt our love.

We are living at Seth's parents apartment complex and it is so fun. We are so close to their apartment we don't have to drive anymore. They live three minutes away from my work so we are really saving on gas. I feel bad though because we are always over there and always eating their food. I know they don't care but I feel bad.

Seth is moving to New York May 30th. Only ten days.... I am very sad about it. He will be living in hostels for awhile while trying to find a job and an apartment for us. My last day of work is June 13th then I am flying to my Aunt Cathy's on June 14th. I am very excited to see her and have a little vacation. I will fly straight from Cathy's to NY and meet up with my long lost husband. All of this is coming up so soon, but it doesn't feel like it. It will hit me soon though! Keep us all in your prayers cause we are going to need it!!!!

Taylor!! Happy Birthday!! - May 5th

Bree and Eric had their little baby girl yesterday!! A Cinco de Mayo baby! Taylor Layne Nelson. I have to be honest although this might hurt some people's feelings, Taylor already whispered in my ear that I am her favorite Aunt. Sorry sistas...but the girl has spoken. She is a cute 8 lb 2 oz and is absolutely perfect. Her eyes were open the whole time we were passing her around. I got to hold her last, but what does it matter, I am the favorite aunt. Aunt Jackie, I don't know how I like the sound of that, I think maybe I should be called Aunt Jack or something. I will have to figure it out soon.

I am excited to go back to the hospital tonight to see her again. I can't wait to play with her and stuff. She is really sweet. Just see the pictures!

May 4th - Our Anniversary!

Wow, I cannot believe Seth and I have been married for a whole year. It is absolutely incredible how fast time flies. It is hard to remember a time when I didn't love him, but it is also hard to contemplate that we have really been married for a whole year. Everyone says the first year is the hardest. Our first year was sometimes tough, but very happy. I am glad that I married someone fun because Seth sure does make me laugh a lot, and laughter is the best medicine right?

For our anniversary we went to the Tree Room at Sundance, owned by Robert Redford himself, he actually waited on our table, just kidding. It was really good. The portions were so small, but I guess that is because if you over eat you feel sick and then don't like the food as well. I ordered an appetizer of Tortellini and he brought it out. It was only one tortellini noodle with some sauce and way good mushrooms that looked like almonds and some spring leaves or something like that. It was absolutely delicious, but very small. Seth got a pheasant for dinner and for the whole rest of the weekend I would hear him murmuring, "I want some pheasant now." He actually asked me to go hunt him down one. Needless to say he really liked his dish. It was fun to eat out at a nice place, but just a once and awhile thing is good for me. We got desert from Tucanos, their cheesecake is my favorite cheesecake in the world. Then we went home and watched Friends, our nightly ritual. It was a very fun night. Happy Anniversary Us!!! Love you Seth!

Hannah's Last High School Dance

Hannah had Senior Ball on Friday, or as we like to call it everywhere besides Utah: Prom. I went with her to pick out her dress last week and then told her I could do her hair and make up. I left work at four and headed over there. We jammed to music while I curled all her beautiful dark hair and dolled her up! She looked so beautiful in her dress and pearls. Her date was cute too. Oh how I miss dances!!
